When Captain Bligh sailed HMS Bounty to Tahiti’s shores over 200 years ago, the breathtaking beauty of its lush green landscape, the tranquility of its crystal clear waters and the hospitality of its people so entranced his crew it resulted in the infamous "Mutiny on the Bounty".

Another "legendary" person to visit Tahiti only to fall in love with the islands and the people was Paul Gauguin. You must be sure to include a visit to the Gauguin Museum.
